Major SOEs pave way for high-quality development, ramp up infrastructure building to lift economy, livelihoods

China recently decided to issue 1 trillion yuan ($136.6 billion) in the fourth quarter in special treasury bonds to support its monumental efforts to bolster infrastructure considered key to livelihoods and to fortify resilience against natural disasters. Critical infrastructure endeavors have long been undertaken by many major State-owned enterprises. Designed with an aim to better serve some 3 million residents in Nanjing’s Jiangning district, Jiangsu province, the Jizhou Island water supply project shown in an aerial photo is being renovated in an environmentally friendly way by China State Construction Engineering Corp, using various high-tech solutions to monitor key indicators related to water supply, such as water quality and supply balance.
