According to the Guizhou Telecommunication Administration, 5G commercial trial service will be launched in 2019. By 2020, the construction of a 5G network covering major urban areas of all cities and prefectures in Guizhou will be completed, and 5G commercial service will be operated on a large scale. By 2022, Guizhou will strive to achieve complete commercial use of 5G.
On July 15, Guizhou government issued the implementation plan for the promotion of a 5G communication network. Guizhou Telecommunication Administration then established the relevant working mechanisms and cooperated with departments of various industries to jointly promote construction of a 5G communication network according to the plan.
In order to provide convenience for the construction of 5G base stations and communication infrastructure government departments, public institutions, state-owned enterprises and hospitals should open their resources including poles and towers, public places and transportation infrastructure to telecom enterprises, broadcasting networks and tower companies.
Also, the plan dictates the province achieve “synchronous planning, synchronous design, synchronous construction and synchronous acceptance” between buildings and communication infrastructure. The design of communication infrastructure must be incorporated into the standards of relevant engineering and construction industries to make ordinary infrastructure have a multi-functional sense of innovation and technology.
Construction of telecommunication infrastructure, including base stations, towers, radio and television stations and computer rooms will be brought into the overall planning of cities and towns.
Application, approval procedures and procedures of mobile communication infrastructure such as communication base stations will be simplified to enhance the support of 5G base station site land.
Finally, Guizhou will take the lead in constructing 5G base stations in densely populated areas and important traffic trunk lines such as avenues, airports, railway stations and large business districts to improve the level and scale of 5G and also bring convenience for users to enjoy 5G in public places.
